ARELLANES RE-ELECTED TO SECOND TERM AS THE HEAD OF NEW MEXICO LULAC
Taos, NM- The NM LULAC organization held its 82nd Annual State Convention from April 29 to May 1, 2011 in Taos, NM. Mr. Ralph Arellanes of Albuquerque was re-elected NM State Director for a second term. Mr.Phillip Archuleta of Las Cruces, NM, was also re-elected the Deputy State Director; Ms. Shirley Reyes from Taos, NM, was elected as the new Deputy for Women; Ms. Cecilia Romero of Las Cruces, NM, was re-elected Deputy for Youth; Mr. Joel Trujillo of Albuquerque was elected the new Deputy for Young Adults; Ms. Josie Marrujo of Albuquerque was re-elected Deputy for Elderly; and Diana Archuleta of Las Cruces, NM was re-elected Treasurer.

ROSWELL TO BE THE 2012 NM LULAC STATE CONVENTION SITE
Taos, NM- The NM LULAC State Convention site for 2012, will be held in Rpswell, NM. Roswell Council 8051 will be the hosting council for the NM LULAC State Convention.
UNM ALBUQUERQUE TO BE THE 2013 NM LULAC STATE CONVENTION SITE
Taos, NM-UNM/Albuquerque will be the site for the 2013 NM LULAC State Convention. This hosting councils will be a combined effort between UNM Council 8057 and Albuquerque Council 8065.
NM LULAC DISTRICT I, HELD ELECTIONS AT THE NM LULAC STATE CONVENTION IN TAOS
Taos, NM– Immediately following the NM LULAC State elections, District I held their elections. The election results are as follows:
District Director, Mr. Dennis Montoya from Albuquerque Council 8025; Deputy District Director, Mr. Tomas Arellanes from Council 8065; Deputy for Elderly, Ms. Irma Archuleta from Taos Council 8053; Deputy for Women, Shirley Reyes from Taos Council 8053; Deputy for Youth, Mr. Marcus Trujillo from UNM Council 8057; Deputy for Young Adults, Erica Baca, UNM Council 8057; and District Treasurer, Ms. Jean Montoya from Albuquerque Council 8025.
The host convention site will in April at UNM-Albuquerque, NM. District I, will focus on organizing and building more council throughout the district. The UNM Council 8057 will also work on holding a candidates forum at the next District Convention, since it will be an election year.
NM LULAC DISTRICT III CONVENTION HELD IN DEMING, NM
Deming, NM- The District III, LULAC Convention was hosted by Deming LULAC Council 205, at the Grand Motor Inn in Deming, NM, on Saturday, April 2, 2011. Deming Mayor, Andres Z. Silva addressed and welcomed delegates and guests that attended the District Convention.

NM LULAC HELD STATE BOARD MEETING IN ROSWELL, NM
Roswell, NM- The NM LULAC Board of Directors met in Roswell, NM, on Saturday, March 26, 2011. Roswell Council 8051 hosted this meeting. There was a large attendance.
1. NM LULAC reactivate both the NM LULAC Organization and NM LULAC Institute corporate reports to the NM PRC. NM LULAC took the following action items:
2. Quorum was established. Judy Ortiz-Aragon, District I Director submitted letter of resignation. Mr. Ralph Arellanes, NM LULAC State Director appointed Mr. Dennis Montoya, District I Director and was affirmed and approved by State Board.
3. NM LULAC will investigate alleged discrimination complaints of several HIspanic football players at ENMU in Portales, NM. It is alleged that Hispanic player are being treated differently and discriminated by coaching staff at ENMU. NM LULAC will file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education and with the President and regents at the University.
4. Members of NM LULAC formed PAC: Concerned Hispanics Involved in Legislative Empowerment -Political Action Committee (CHILE-PAC). Santiago Juarez, was selcted to spearhead this effort.
5. NM LULAC approved the creation of the following commissions:: Veteran's and Employment and Economic Development. Lee Leyva will Chair the Veteran's Commission.
6. Several state officers announced their candidacy for NM State Office. Th State Board voted to endorse the following individuals for the respective positions:

3. Josie Marrujo, Deputy State Director for Elderly
4. Linda Anaya, Deputy State Director for Women

Albuquerque, NM- UNM LULAC Council 8057 held election on Friday, March 25, 2011, at the University Campus in Albuquerque, NM. The following were elected to office:
