INFORMATION ON DISTRICT I CONVENTION AND YOUNG ADULT CONFERENCE
LULAC Young Adult Council 8057 of Albuquerque, NM, will host the NM LULAC District 1 Convention at the University of New Mexico from March 30th to April 1st, 2012. This convention will be a joint Young Adult Conference in conjunction with the District Convention.
Council 8057 with Deputy State Director for Young Adults, Joe'L Trujillo and Deputy District 1 Director for Young Adults, Erica Baca will host a Mixer Event on Friday Evening, March 30,2012. We invite all councils from District 1 to meet and mingle with members of UNM Young Adult Council 8057. The members of 8057 will have to opportunity to demonstrate to others the impact LULAC has made at UNM over the last two years since its inception.
On Saturday, March 31, 2012, the District Conventionct events will be in coordination with the District 1 Director, Dennis W. Montoya and Council 8057.The workshops, meeting, and committee will take place in the conference rooms located on the 3rd floor of the Student Union Building at UNM.
On Saturday evening, March 31, 2012, the Awards Ceremony and formal reception (Black, Silver or Red Tie Only Event) will take place at_______. Council 8057 President, Valerie Arellanes will give the welcoming address on behalf of host council, to be followed by District 1 Director, Dennis W. Montoya and NM LULAC State Director, Ralph D. Arellanes. The Keynote Speaker TBA. We have invited distinguished guests that have confirmed attendence: LULAC National Vice President for Young Adults, Manuel Rendon, NM State Senator, Linda Lopez and NM State Auditor, Hector Balderas.
Part of the Convention proceeds will be to collect a special scholarship to a first generation incoming Hispanic/Latino High School student entering the University of New Mexico Fall of 2012.
