CONCERNED HISPANICS INVOLVED IN LEGISLATIVE EMPOWERMENT- POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE
(CHILE-PAC)
CHILE-PAC:
The Concerned Hispanics Involved in Legislative Empowerment- Political Action Committee (CHILE-PAC) was formed on March 26, 2011, in Roswell, NM, by several Hispanic leaders and individual members of New Mexico LULAC.
The purpose of this PAC is to develop a thirty three county strategy in a cooperative endeavor in uniting indigenous, Hispanics and other New Mexicans that share a common cause of preserving the traditions, heritage, customs and values of New Mexico.
CHILE PAC has three fundamental pillars:
First goal is to prevent and combat legislation at both the state and federal levels that promote hate, bigotry and xenophobia. CHILE-PAC will vehemently oppose any outside influences that encroach on the customs, heritage and traditional values that have been enjoyed and preserved by many citizens of New Mexico.
Second goal is to promote and improve the overall political and economic empowerment of our community at all levels within our state. This is through supporting candidates that possess and share CHILE-PAC's ideals and values. This will be achieved by supporting and electing native New Mexicans or those whom share our commitments and values into public offices either by election or appointments.
Third, our PAC will conduct research and provide the public with information on all elected officials, including, but not limited to the judicial, legislative and executive branches of our local, state and federal governments. We will serve as a watch dog organization. These reports will provide a report card how each of these elected officials voted on legislation, decided legal decisions or if they supported projects or initiatives that are beneficial and supportive of our community. Also, we will provide alerts on those officials that pose a potential threat to the welfare of our constituents or that have consistently opposed our values and the best interests of our community.
